Our hand woven products are very warm and comfortable. They are made from 100% Merino wool and shiny Angora goat mohair found in the beautiful mountains of Lesotho. All woven products are hand-spun, hand- dyed and woven, each product is very different from the other following this processes, which makes our products unique. Mohair is handspun by the women in the mountains into unique, vibrant colours suitable for all seasons.
Wool & Mohair
We use Cotton,100% local Angora goat mohair and 100% Merino wool, as well as mixture of wool and mohair to make wall hangings, rugs, scarves and place mats. Wool and mohair are spun using spinning wheel, thoroughly cleansed and hand dyed using a special multicolour dying technique, which makes your product the only one, as we cannot guarantee the exact product to be made again in terms of colour. Our biggest loom size is Length 220cm x Width 220 cm
Our product lines are produced in a wide selection of fabrics and colourways. The Basotho traditional print fabric is called Seshoeshoe (pronounced Se-shwesh-shway). These fabrics are sometimes called 'Three Cats' - a reference to the distinctive logo stamped on the back of the fabric. All fabrics are 100% cotton. Because these fabrics are starched in the factory - that's the tradition - they are quite stiff when new. After washing they are lovely and soft and hard wearing.
Fabric Patterns & Colours
We have used one colourway in our pattern/colour guide on Page 6-10 and given each pattern a code. The patterns are available in nearly all the colourways that are outlined at the end of the pattern guide. You can indicate your choice by inserting the product code in the price list followed by the pattern code and then followed by the colourway code. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
